Ill Health Retirement Income

If the police authority decides to retire you on the grounds of ill health, you will be entitled to an immediate pension and lump sum. If you have more than two years service then retirement is on the grounds of permanent disablement. If you have less than two years service then the disablement needs to have resulted from in jury on duty.

An ill-health pension is enhanced to compensate for the lost opportunity of serving until normal retirement at age 55. The enhancements applied are shown in the table below.
