Born in Plymouth, Devon in 1948. After local High school I spent 24 years in the chemical industry, gaining extensive experience in production planning, distribution and purchasing. This background experience has resulted in a thorough understanding of business operations; consequently I have a clear insight into queries from business owners.

Since joining the Financial Services Profession in 1990 I have helped many individuals, families and businesses with their financial arrangements. My clients include members of the medical profession, accountants, solicitors, company executives, expatriates, as well as directors, business owners, and salaried employees.

By passing various Chartered Insurance Institute exams covering Pensions, Taxation & trusts, personal investments, Equity Release and Long term care. I have attained the prestigious title of Chartered Financial Planner - a qualification only a minority of advisers possess. Using this knowledge I act as a pension specialist for pension transfers, income Drawdown and Phased retirement options. I also provide this support to other IFA's both within Bates and externally.
